Gabrielle Alicia Caples was born on October 26, 1992 and was raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She is currently attending Alverno College where she is majoring in Media Design and minoring in Film Studies. In May of 2018 she attended Milwaukee Area Technical College (MATC) where she earned her associate degree in Marketing Management and Advertising. During her time at MATC she participated in two study abroad programs which were Language Studies in Guatemala and Business Management in Germany and Switzerland. Ever since her childhood days she’s been traveling all around the world and discovering new interests, which has driven some of her inspiration to make the art she creates. Growing up, she had a very unique childhood compared to others since she lived with her mom and grandparents, she was exposed to many old films from the 40’s, 50’s, 60’s and 70’s that influenced her artwork and the style she uses . She learned how to create digital art while attending Alverno College and primarily works with Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator to create her work. Growing up, she unfortunately was diagnosed with bipolar depression and anxiety and she uses art to express feelings and thoughts behind dealing with mental illness. She not only creates what she sees and what inspires her, but also how she feels; making her art more diverse. Art isn’t just a general interest for Gabrielle, but a positive outlet for self expression and a way to stimulate imagination.
